This NYT article about not-just-for-profit is annoying because most successful companies ARE purpose-driven and help people, or they wouldn't be successful. Many companies don't think of themselves that way, but it's true. (Exceptions, of course.) Related, beware the coming onslaught of entrepreneurs masquerading as anti-capitalists. It's OK to sell something to people that they benefit from. Sustainability (profitability) lets you keep helping people who value what you offer.
